I love these before and after photos as they allow me to point out a very important consideration. When you look at this young lady's right breast you will see that it sits about two centimeters lower than the left one and that the areola is lower and larger than the left breast. There is not a lot of droop to the breast but it is there. This needs to be pointed out to the patient during preoperative consultation as if I don't treat this then there will still be this asymmetry in the postoperative result. Even using two different sized implants is not going to correct nipple position and the only way to do this would be by doing a lift on the right breast. Is this worth doing? This is a subjective answer. The problem with doing a lift is that there are incisions on the front of the breast which leave scars. No incision regardless of what plastic surgeon makes it heals without any scar. So to lift this right breast I would leave a permanent scar on the front of the breast versus accept the slight difference in position. This needs to be a joint decision between the patient and surgeon. Otherwise the patient will come back postoperatively and not understand why my nipple is lower on this side. Here I placed two different sized implants, 330cc and 350cc to account for the size difference and accepted the slight shape difference. She is very happy with the results shown here at 6 weeks.
