Breast Augmentation: Patient 160

Breast Augmentation: Patient 160

This 29-year-old lady came to see me after unsuccessful breast augmentation by a plastic surgeon in Philadelphia.  She had originally had implants placed of different sizes in order to try to mask the size and shape difference of her breasts.  Whoever did this first operation should have known better!  Placing two differently sized implants will help to adjust for a size discrepancy but do little to nothing to change the shape of her breasts.  She presented to me with several issues.  First of all her right implant pocket is placed too low.  Either this was done on purpose to mimic the droop of her left breast or it healed that way I'll never know for sure.  She has a high sitting nipple as the implant sits too low.  Pocket modifications with internal bra techniques were used to lift the pocket and normalize the areolar position.  A wedge of skin at the base of the breast was also excised to remove the stretched skin from the low implant.  On the left a mastopexy (breast lift) was neded to reshape this breast.  Two differently sized gummy silicone breast implants were also used 310 on the left and 405cc on the right.  She is shown here 2 months after her surgery delighted with her result.
