This is a great example of a nice result of a patient who is borderline for needing a lift.  When you look at her preoperative photographs you can see from the side and from the oblique angles that there is a little sag to the breast and that her nipple is right at the level of her breast crease.  The areola still points forward but there is some laxity to the skin envelope.  I obtained a very nice result with just placing an implant.  Are they more on the natural appearing side?  Absolutely!  This is the look that many ladies desire.  In order to obtain much more upper pole fullness and more of a round "augmented" appearance I would have needed to do a breast lift.  Would that be worth the trade-off is the age old question here?   A lift would require incisions of at least the lollipop mastopexy variety as there would be an incision circle around the areola and a vertical component from the areola to the crease to remove loose skin.   These incisions leave scars and while some ladies scar perfectly, some do not.  This is a trade off and each patient needs to decide on if that trade off is worth it.  I like before and after photographs like this as it is very common for ladies to come in to see me and I tell them they are borderline but it is hard to conceptualize what that result without the lift will look like so I appreciate so much when patients allow me to share their before and after photos such as these!  Education is key to helping make these decisions!  This patient received 300cc Demi profile Motiva breast implants in a subfascial location.  She is very happy with her results!
